UI/UX Designer IV
Content Experience Designer
Role summary
The Content Experience Designer turns marketing, content, and commercial objectives into compelling digital experiences. You will design campaign landing pages, promotional and sales experiences, reusable content modules, and the connections between those experiences and the customer’s next task. Your work combines strong creative judgment with the ability to assemble, build, inspect, and improve experiences delivered through a headless CMS and shared digital platforms.
This is a hands-on design role that extends from campaign concept through working delivery. You will shape narrative, visual hierarchy, imagery, typography, interaction, and brand expression while working with structured content, reusable components, semantic tokens, and themes. You will design for web, native iOS, and native Android, partnering with the responsible teams to make each experience appropriate to its channel.
AI-assisted design and building are core parts of the practice. You will use AI workflows to explore concepts, compose working experiences, prepare structured content, investigate inconsistencies, and accelerate iteration. You remain responsible for inspecting the output, correcting failures, and evaluating the result against customer needs, approved campaign information, and shared experience requirements.
As an individual contributor, you will independently manage defined campaigns and content experiences, make dependencies visible, and work closely with marketing, content, design-system, and engineering partners. Success means delivering distinctive, accessible, system-aligned experiences and making good work easier to repeat.
What you’ll do
- Translate campaign objectives into customer-centered experiences. Work with marketing, product, and commercial partners to understand the audience, customer need, intended action, approved offer, and delivery constraints. Clarify incomplete requirements and connect campaign goals to meaningful customer and business outcomes.
- Create compelling campaign and content design. Develop concepts, narrative structure, visual hierarchy, imagery, typography, layouts, and interactions that help customers understand and act. Preserve brand expression and create distinctive campaign treatments within supported experience patterns.
- Design and assemble CMS-driven experiences. Use headless CMS content structures, reusable modules, references, and approved assets to compose pages and campaign variants. Account for content limits, optional fields, ordering, responsive behavior, and the relationship between authored content and the interface customers actually encounter.
- Connect CMS composition to the design system. Apply shared experience specifications, components, semantic tokens, and approved brand and campaign themes. Work with platform and design-system partners to verify how CMS structures map to supported components and variants. Identify gaps and contribute solutions rather than creating unsupported local styles or duplicate standards.
- Use AI-assisted tools to create and improve working output. Supply approved campaign information, relevant system specifications, and clear constraints to design and coding agents. Use them to explore treatments, prepare structured drafts, compose interactive experiences, adapt variants, and assist with bounded implementation work. Inspect generated changes and correct failures.
- Maintain clear, versioned campaign specifications. Connect customer intent, message hierarchy, authoritative offer references, content requirements, component and theme mappings, channel differences, important states, lifecycle dates, and acceptance criteria. Keep these specifications traceable to working artifacts and update them as decisions change.
- Design useful campaign and offer variations. Adapt experiences for assigned audiences, markets, promotional periods, and customer contexts. Define default, unavailable, expired, and other relevant states. Reference approved sources for prices, claims, eligibility, and terms, while keeping presentation decisions distinct from targeting and commercial enforcement.
- Design coherent journeys across channels. Consider how customers encounter campaign content and continue into search, purchase, loyalty, account management, or offer redemption. Partner with web, iOS, Android, and other responsible teams to validate channel-appropriate presentation, navigation, links, and fallback behavior rather than assuming one platform’s preview proves another’s quality.
- Build accessibility into the experience. Address content comprehension, semantic and heading structure, contrast, alternative text, accessible names, keyboard and focus behavior, text sizing, reflow, motion, and interaction states as appropriate to the channel. Test with relevant tools and collaborate with accessibility specialists and engineers on complex issues.
- Validate the rendered experience, not just the design artifact. Create and inspect realistic CMS previews, interactive compositions, or supported working prototypes. Check content fit, component behavior, theme application, links, and important states. Distinguish representative content and simulated integrations from live behavior, and document what still requires verification.
- Partner through implementation. Recognize when a request needs a content update, a composition change, a content-model adjustment, or a component or rendering change. Work with the appropriate owners, contribute bounded and reviewable changes where agreed, and resolve differences between design intent and delivered behavior through established review processes.
- Support release, maintenance, and retirement. Prepare review-ready content and implementation artifacts, participate in required approvals, and perform publishing activities only within assigned permissions. Verify relevant live experiences with partners and plan for updates, campaign expiry, withdrawn offers, and correction or recovery needs.
- Evaluate effectiveness and act on evidence. Work with research, analytics, and experimentation partners to assess comprehension, qualified engagement, downstream completion, and campaign performance. Help define and verify measurement needs, investigate unexpected results, and use findings to improve, narrow, or stop a treatment.
- Make successful delivery reusable. Contribute campaign patterns, templates, component combinations, specifications, examples, AI instructions, and practical quality checks. Improve these resources through actual use, support colleagues working in established and emerging design tools, and make it easier for others to deliver consistent work independently.
Required experience and capabilities
- Strong campaign and content experience design. Demonstrated ability to turn a brief into clear, polished digital experiences, with sound judgment in visual storytelling, art direction, hierarchy, typography, imagery, interaction, and brand expression. A portfolio or equivalent work samples should explain decisions, individual contributions, iteration, and measured outcomes.
- Experience with structured CMS delivery. Experience designing and delivering experiences through a structured or headless CMS (e.g., Contentstack, Contentful, Sanity, or similar). Ability to work with content models, reusable modules, references, assets, and variants, and explain how these become rendered interfaces.
- Design-system fluency. Practical understanding of reusable components, semantic tokens, themes, documented behavior, and contribution processes. Ability to adapt creative concepts to shared foundations while recognizing legitimate gaps and preserving appropriate brand and campaign expression.
- Hands-on AI-assisted design and building. Ability to create, explain, and modify a functioning interactive experience using approved AI-assisted tools in a supported environment. Evidence should include how you supplied context, inspected generated work, diagnosed problems, corrected the result, and identified remaining limitations. Static generated screens alone are not sufficient.
- Accessibility and channel-aware design. Ability to design responsive, understandable experiences and validate relevant accessibility behavior. Understanding of meaningful differences between web, native iOS, and native Android presentation and interaction, including when platform-specific expertise is needed.
- Evidence-based iteration. Experience using research, usability evaluation, analytics, or experiments to improve designs and drive business outcomes. Ability to distinguish meaningful customer and campaign outcomes from content volume or page-level activity alone.
- Clear communication and dependable collaboration. Ability to maintain useful specifications, explain tradeoffs, incorporate critique, manage defined work independently, and make risks and dependencies visible. Sound judgment about when to proceed, seek review, or involve a specialist.
Preferred experience
- Hands-on experience with a headless CMS, including structured authoring, reusable content types, preview workflows, and collaboration on content-model improvements.
- Campaign, promotion, or content experience design in travel, hospitality, e-commerce, marketplaces, or another consumer-facing environment.
- Work with multi-brand design systems, approved themes, audience variations, or campaign experimentation.
- Practical familiarity with HTML, CSS, JSON, browser inspection, and repository-based review workflows.
