Sr. SQL Server Developer
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Senior SQL Server Developer to join a distributed scrum team supporting and enhancing a business-critical ETL application. This person will own the application’s SQL development, including stored procedures, dynamic SQL, data processing, troubleshooting, and database performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL Server stored procedures and queries.
• Build and support dynamic SQL used in ETL and data-processing workflows.
• Troubleshoot database issues, failed processes, and data-quality problems.
• Identify and resolve SQL Server performance bottlenecks.
• Support scheduled jobs and automated workflows using VisualCron and PowerShell.
• Collaborate closely with application developers and other scrum team members.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, testing, and production support.
• Document database processes, dependencies, and technical solutions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of SQL Server development experience.
• Advanced experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, dynamic SQL, and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and data movement.
• Experience troubleshooting and improving database performance.
• Familiarity with PowerShell and job-scheduling or automation tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within a distributed scrum team.
• Ability to provide consistent overlap with U.S. business hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with VisualCron.
• Familiarity with .NET or ASP.NET applications.
• Experience supporting production ETL applications.
