About Our Client

Our client is an AI data and research company focused on developing high-quality training datasets for next-generation audio AI systems. Their mission is to accelerate the adoption of AI in real-world applications by solving one of the industry's most critical challenges: access to high-quality training data.

Founded by experienced AI and technology leaders, the company has quickly established itself as a trusted partner to leading AI organizations and enterprise customers. Backed by top-tier investors and experiencing rapid growth, they are building a world-class team of engineers, researchers, product leaders, and operators to help shape the future of audio AI.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to help build and scale cutting-edge audio data products used by leading AI organizations. This role is ideal for a product-minded, backend-leaning engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of software engineering, data processing, and AI.

You will partner closely with researchers, engineers, and customers to develop systems that process and analyze massive volumes of audio data while delivering intuitive user experiences. This position offers the opportunity to work on highly visible products, influence technical direction, and help establish engineering best practices within a rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-stack feature development with a primary focus on backend systems and platform capabilities.
  • Design, build, and scale systems that process large volumes of audio and machine learning training data.
  • Develop production-grade user experiences that help customers understand and utilize complex datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with ML researchers to improve data collection, processing, and evaluation workflows.
  • Deploy and evaluate LLM-based and signal-processing solutions to improve customer insights.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to technical standards, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with research, product, and customer-facing teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience (Staff-level candidates also encouraged to apply).
  • 4+ years of experience building production-grade, backend-leaning full-stack applications.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, venture-backed startup environment.
  • Experience building and scaling large-scale data processing systems.
  • Technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Strong proficiency with:
    • Python
    • TypeScript
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with research, product, and customer-facing teams.
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with AI, machine learning, or generative AI technologies.
  • Experience working with audio data, speech technologies, or signal processing.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and AI-powered product development.
  • Prior engineering management experience.
  • Experience deploying DSP (Digital Signal Processing) solutions.
  • Passion for early-stage startup environments and helping shape company culture and technical direction.

Technical Environment

  • Python
  • TypeScript
  • JavaScript
  • Large-scale data processing systems
  • AI/ML technologies
  • LLM-based applications
  • Audio and speech data platforms

Ideal Background

Successful candidates typically come from fast-growing startup environments where they have owned products end-to-end, worked closely with customers and researchers, and operated in highly collaborative, fast-moving engineering organizations.

Note: Candidates whose experience has been exclusively within large enterprise technology organizations without startup exposure may not be the best fit for this environment.
