Overview
Our client is building a high-performance infrastructure platform focused on distributed systems and real-time resource allocation. This role sits at the core of the platform, owning the systems responsible for orchestration, pricing, and capacity management in a fast-moving, high-scale environment.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a backend-leaning engineer with 3+ years of experience (ideally 5–8) working on distributed systems in production environments. This person should be comfortable operating as a generalist across platform infrastructure and capable of owning systems end-to-end.
You should have a strong foundation in concurrency, asynchronous systems, and reliability, with experience building and maintaining systems at scale.
Required Experience
Seniority
  • 3+ years of experience in backend or distributed systems engineering
Work Experience
  • Shipped and maintained production backend systems at scale
  • Built distributed systems handling concurrency and race conditions
  • Experience working in either large-scale tech environments or VC-backed startups
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience with containerization and infrastructure tooling (Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, or observability tooling)
Nice to Have
  • Experience with marketplace, auction, exchange, or billing systems
  • Exposure to pricing models, allocation systems, or real-time decision engines
What You’ll Do
  • Build and evolve core platform systems responsible for real-time allocation and orchestration
  • Own distributed systems across reservation management, capacity allocation, and pricing logic
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure user requests map cleanly to backend infrastructure
  • Improve system reliability, resiliency, and operational maturity across the platform
  • Contribute to infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environment management
  • Ship features end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring
  • Participate in on-call rotations and production incident response
  • Build automation and runbooks to reduce operational overhead over time
