Senior Software Engineer, Agent Frameworks

Location: Seattle, WA | Hybrid
Compensation: Competitive base salary + bonus + long-term incentives

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build the foundational architecture behind sophisticated AI agent systems. You’ll design the frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and execution infrastructure that define how agents, tools, and services interact.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys greenfield development, distributed systems, and building infrastructure that other engineers and researchers can easily build on top of. You’ll work at the intersection of agentic AI, developer infrastructure, evaluation, and production systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and execution surfaces for AI agents, tools, and services
  • Build infrastructure for sandboxed agent execution, enabling teams to safely run, inspect, test, and iterate on agent workflows at scale
  • Design and maintain evaluation and benchmarking frameworks that measure individual agent components and end-to-end system performance
  • Develop abstractions and developer-facing tooling that allow technical teams to build, compose, and deploy agents without needing to manage the underlying infrastructure
  • Improve the reliability, observability, scalability, and cost efficiency of the systems agents run on
  • Own projects across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and operational support
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, research, and product teams to build maintainable, production-grade systems
  • Help establish technical standards and best practices for agent infrastructure and evaluation

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Strong Python engineering skills and experience building production-grade services and developer-facing tools
  • Experience designing SDKs, APIs, frameworks, or platforms that other engineers have adopted and built on top of
  • Hands-on experience building or operating agentic AI systems, including areas such as:
    • Agent orchestration
    • Tool and function integration
    • Sandboxed execution
    • Agent memory and state management
    • Agent runtime or execution infrastructure
  • Experience designing evaluation, testing, or benchmarking infrastructure for measuring system or component performance
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP, containerization, and automated deployment
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and observability
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical disciplines
  • High degree of ownership and comfort working in evolving, greenfield environments

Why This Role

You’ll have the opportunity to build core infrastructure for advanced AI agents from the ground up. Rather than focusing primarily on prompts or individual AI features, you’ll work on the underlying frameworks and systems that make agentic applications reliable, measurable, scalable, and easy for others to build on.
