Duration: 4 months with high possibility of extension.  
Compensation: $80-$90 per hour W2 plus medical, dental, vision and sick time.

Notes:

• You will be working hand in hand with Mick.  He is phenomenal and everyone loves this guy.  It's basically a two person engineering team with some support from FTE HP engineers that are working on other projects.  Deb is the PM for the product
• The product originally started as a hardware security key initiative but has evolved into a broader edge/on-prem platform.
• The platform connects local edge devices with AI cloud services.
• Primary use case:
  • Edge nodes deployed at customer locations (example: Starbucks)
  • AI/video/voice data must remain local on the edge rather than fully cloud-hosted
• Current architecture uses cloud integrations initially, but long-term direction is heavier edge-based processing and orchestration.
• As this is a very small team, must be senior with the ability to handle ambiguity, be self directed, and make architecture decisions

Senior Full Stack Engineer (Edge AI Platform)
Overview
A global technology organization is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build and evolve a next-generation edge computing platform focused on secure AI-enabled device management and on-prem orchestration.
This team operates like a startup within a larger innovation organization, building a greenfield platform that connects edge devices, local infrastructure, and AI services in highly distributed environments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior engineer who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and enjoys owning architecture and implementation across the stack.
What You’ll Work On

• Build and enhance edge-based applications that connect local devices with AI platforms and cloud services
• Design and develop scalable frontend experiences using React and TypeScript
• Build backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Implement secure authentication and authorization flows using OAuth/OIDC technologies
• Work with Kubernetes and Docker-based deployments in distributed environments
• Help shape architectural decisions across frontend, backend, and platform layers
• Integrate with AI tooling and third-party AI providers
• Collaborate closely with QA, platform, and product stakeholders in a rapid prototyping environment

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript
• Strong backend development experience using Python and FastAPI (or similar modern frameworks)
• Experience building and deploying containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Understanding of authentication and identity systems including OAuth2/OIDC
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Ability to operate independently and make technical decisions in fast-moving environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Keycloak or similar identity providers
• Experience building edge or on-prem infrastructure platforms
• Exposure to AI/ML platform integrations
• Experience working in startup or rapid prototyping environments
• Familiarity with firmware or embedded systems development
• Exposure to C++ is a plus
