What You'll Do

Data Migration

• Design and build SQL-based migration scripts to extract, transform, and load data from Viewpoint Vista into D365 F&O
• Partner with functional leads and data owners to develop and validate field-level data mapping documents
• Execute mock migrations and reconcile results against source data, tracking defects through to resolution
• Build and maintain data validation and reconciliation frameworks to ensure completeness and accuracy at go-live
• Support cutover planning including final migration sequencing, timing, and rollback verification

Legacy System Modernization (SSIS / SQL)

• Assess existing SSIS packages and SQL Server Agent jobs to determine migrate vs. retire decisions
• Refactor and modernize legacy ETL pipelines for compatibility with D365 and current infrastructure standards
• Document logic embedded in legacy jobs that is undocumented or understood only by institutional knowledge
• Collaborate with the MuleSoft engineer to identify where legacy SQL logic should be replaced by API-based integrations

Backend & API Development

• Build supporting backend services, utilities, and tooling to fill gaps not covered by the MuleSoft integration platform
• Develop custom D365 F&O data entities, DMF packages, and OData service integrations as needed
• Write and maintain integration utility scripts (Python, PowerShell, or C#) for operational and migration support tasks
• Support the team in building out test harnesses, data seeding tools, and QA automation scripts

Collaboration & Documentation

• Contribute to Technical Design Documents (TDDs), data mapping specs, and runbooks
• Participate in design reviews and flag technical risks early
• Work with business SMEs to understand source-system data structures and transformation requirements
• Operate with a documentation-first mindset — what you build, you document

Who You Are:

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience in backend or data-focused roles
• Expert-level SQL — complex joins, window functions, stored procedures, performance tuning, and data validation queries
• Hands-on experience building or refactoring SSIS packages and SQL Server Agent jobs
• Experience with large-scale data migration projects — extract, transform, load, reconcile, cutover
• Proficiency in: C#
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across heterogeneous data sources
• Comfort working from incomplete or undocumented legacy systems — you ask good questions and make reasonable inferences
• Ability to read and write clear technical documentation

Highly Preferred

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O — Data Management Framework (DMF), data entities, OData APIs, or X++ basics
• Familiarity with Viewpoint Vista or similar construction/AEC ERP systems
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or similar data platform tooling
• Exposure to API-based integration patterns (REST, JSON payloads, OAuth 2.0) even without deep middleware experience
• Prior work on ERP implementation or migration programs of similar scale

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform at a conceptual level (you don’t build flows, but you’ll work alongside engineers who do)
• Experience with Azure DevOps for backlog management and CI/CD pipelines
• Construction, engineering, or facilities management industry background
