Senior Product Engineer
Senior Product Engineer
Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA | Full-Time | Hybrid (4 Days/Week In Office)
We're partnering with a rapidly growing legal AI startup that is redefining how professionals leverage intelligent software to automate complex workflows and make better decisions. Following the successful launch of a next-generation agentic AI platform, the company is expanding its engineering team and hiring several Senior Product Engineers to help shape the future of its product.
This is an opportunity to join a high-caliber team building AI-native products that are already delivering significant value in a large, underserved market. You'll work at the intersection of product, engineering, customer feedback, and AI innovation, helping bring ambitious ideas from concept to production.
The Role
As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll own product development from customer problem through implementation and launch. This is not a role for someone who wants to work exclusively in frontend, backend, or infrastructure. The team is looking for builders who thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and enjoy solving customer problems with technology.
You'll partner closely with customers, product leaders, and engineers to identify opportunities, prototype solutions, and ship impactful features. Success in this role requires strong engineering fundamentals, product intuition, and the ability to operate autonomously.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and launch customer-facing product features end-to-end
- Collaborate directly with customers to understand pain points and gather feedback
- Help shape product strategy and influence what gets built, not just how it's built
- Develop and deploy AI-powered capabilities using modern LLM and agentic architectures
- Work across the full stack to rapidly prototype and deliver solutions
- Drive technical decisions while balancing speed, quality, and customer value
- Contribute to a culture of ownership, curiosity, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Computer Science degree required
- Proven track record of owning and shipping products from concept through production
- Experience working in both larger technology organizations and startup environments
- Recent startup experience strongly preferred
- History of taking ownership beyond formal job responsibilities
Technical Skills
- Strong full-stack software engineering experience
- Experience building and shipping AI or LLM-powered products in production
- Familiarity with agentic workflows, AI systems, or intelligent automation platforms
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work across multiple layers of the stack as business needs evolve
What Makes Someone Successful
- Product-oriented mindset that prioritizes customer outcomes
- Experience working directly with customers and translating feedback into product improvements
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity with minimal process or structure
- Bias toward action, iteration, and rapid learning
- Strong ownership mentality and ability to operate independently
- Collaborative teammate who raises the performance of those around them
Not the Right Fit
- Engineers who specialize exclusively in frontend, backend, or infrastructure
- Candidates who rely on large teams or highly structured environments to be successful
- Product managers or product-adjacent candidates without deep hands-on engineering expertise
Compensation & Benefits
The company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits.
Base Salary
- Seattle, WA: $170,000 - $243,000
- San Francisco, CA: $200,000 - $255,000
In addition to salary, employees receive equity designed to provide meaningful participation in the company's long-term growth and success.
Location & Work Environment
This role is based in either Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA and requires employees to work from the office four days per week.
Candidates based in San Francisco should be comfortable spending significant time in Seattle during onboarding and periodically thereafter to collaborate with the broader engineering and leadership teams.
