Compensation: Targeting $230,000–$240,000 base salary + 15% annual incentive
Relocation: Open to candidates relocating to Anchorage
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a large, highly respected healthcare organization seeking a Senior Director of Care Management to lead care management operations across a complex, multi-site healthcare environment in Alaska.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced nursing and care management leader who can drive operational excellence, improve patient outcomes, strengthen caregiver engagement, and build consistency across the continuum of care.
The Senior Director will oversee Care Management leaders across multiple locations and work closely with executive leadership, physicians, nursing leaders, utilization management, appeals, clinical education, and other key stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Care Management across multiple facilities and care settings
- Lead and support Care Management managers and supervisors, ensuring teams are positioned to achieve clinical and operational goals
- Develop strategies to improve length of stay, readmissions, care transitions, caregiver engagement, and overall cost of care
- Standardize Care Management processes, policies, reporting, and best practices across the service area
- Establish goals, develop action plans, monitor outcomes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead process improvement and change management efforts to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Partner closely with physicians, nursing executives, operational leaders, and other clinical stakeholders
- Oversee performance audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Monitor, analyze, and report key Care Management metrics and outcomes
- Ensure strong coordination between inpatient, outpatient, and other continuum-of-care settings
- Serve as a senior resource for complex case management issues, outliers, and ethics-related matters
- Partner with clinical education teams to develop and maintain Care Management policies, standard work, and training
- Support the continued development and optimization of technology, including Epic, to improve Care Management workflows, reporting, and productivity
- Build strong relationships with internal leaders and external continuum-of-care providers
- Drive initiatives focused on improving quality while reducing the total cost of care
What We're Looking For
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse license upon hire
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- ACM or CCM certification required within one year of hire
- Additional coursework or training in case management, managed care, and/or utilization management is preferred
Experience
- 6+ years of clinical and/or operational leadership experience within a complex healthcare environment
- 5+ years of Director or Manager-level experience specifically within Case Management/Care Management
- Experience leading across multiple patient care services or facilities
- Experience across acute inpatient and outpatient settings preferred
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable state and federal healthcare regulations
- Experience managing complex patient populations and care delivery models
