Salesforce Engineer
ob Summary
Our client utilizes Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) and nCino to manage customer relationships and lending experiences. We are seeking a full-stack Salesforce Engineer who can seamlessly transition between custom development and declarative configuration to extend, integrate, and maintain the platform as a system of engagement for bankers across the organization.
This is a hands-on build role. The individual will be responsible for writing Apex code and developing Lightning Web Components (LWC) when coding is the most suitable approach, while also configuring flows, validation rules, security models, and page layouts when a declarative approach is more appropriate. The engineer will work closely with the data model that connects customers, households, relationships, and accounts. Also, they will help integrate Salesforce with the bank’s core systems and data platforms using established integration patterns.
Along with the key functions listed below, this position is expected to provide thoughtful, professional service to colleagues and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and enhance FSC functionality using a balanced mix of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative tools such as Flow, validation rules, record-triggered automation, page layouts, and the security/sharing model.
Translate the requirements of bankers and business teams into well-architected Salesforce solutions, deliberately choosing between code vs. configuration while documenting the reasoning behind those choices.
Work within the FSC data model (Person Accounts, households, relationship groups, financial accounts) to support a comprehensive customer 360 view across both consumer and commercial lines.
Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and banking systems through approved mediation layers (MuleSoft, Integration Gateway, platform APIs, event-driven patterns).
Support and enhance the environment that nCino operates on, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure that platform changes do not disrupt commercial and consumer origination workflows.
Write testable and reviewable Apex code with meaningful test coverage; participate in version control and CI/CD processes (e.g., Salesforce DX, source-driven deployments) while engaging in code reviews.
Manage configuration across sandboxes and production environments using a disciplined release management process.
Maintain the platform’s security and sharing model in line with least-privilege principles and the bank’s data-handling obligations.
Troubleshoot production issues, monitor functionality and performance, and remediate technical debt in automation and code.
Document solutions, data flows, and integration contracts so the platform remains maintainable.
Share knowledge with colleagues, including nCino Administrators.
Risk Management & Compliance
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, client, and proprietary information.
Complete and pass all assigned eLearning courses.
Adherence to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.
Avoid real or perceived conflicts of interest and maintain client privacy and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development & configuration on the Lightning platform.
Proficient in Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC), with a strong command of declarative tools such as Flow, validation rules, security/sharing model, and page layouts.
Direct experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC), including its data model and core features; or demonstrable, transferable experience in configuring and extending a comparable Salesforce industry cloud.
Experienced in integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, or a middleware/integration layer.
Working knowledge of Salesforce deployment practices, including sandboxes, change sets, or source-driven deployment (Salesforce DX), and version control (Git).
Salesforce Platform Developer I certification, or equivalent demonstrable skills.
Strong communication skills — capable of gathering requirements from business stakeholders and explaining technical trade-offs.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the nCino platform and how it layers on and complements the Salesforce platform.
Credentials such as Salesforce Platform Developer II, Administrator, or FSC Accredited Professional.
Experience with MuleSoft or another enterprise integration platform.
Proficiency in the Python language.
Experience delivering software in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, insurance) with an understanding of audit, logging, and data-handling requirements.
Exposure to data platforms and how Salesforce participates in an enterprise customer 360.
Familiarity with banking domain concepts (i.e., lending, deposits, relationship management).
Physical Conditions:
•?Light intermittent physical effort.
•?Sit or stand for long periods.
•?Frequently transition from seated to upright positions.
•?Make repetitive hand and wrist movements.
•?Use vision for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception when using a computer monitor.
•?Communicate clearly verbally, over the phone, and via video chat.
Working Conditions:
•?Typical office conditions.
Required in-office at least once per week, with additional days as determined by leadership at an approved office location.
Travel may be required
