About the role
Our client is seeking a Product Engineer (Tax & Banking) with strong backend experience who enjoys building scalable product features end-to-end. This individual will operate as a product-minded engineer who can move fluidly across backend systems, APIs, and product surfaces.
You will own meaningful product functionality from ideation through production, working closely with Product Management and Engineering leadership to build reliable, scalable, and intuitive financial products. The role involves working across distributed systems spanning web, mobile, AI-powered components, and backend infrastructure.
This is an opportunity to join an early-stage, high-growth environment where engineers contribute directly to product direction and ship code frequently through mature CI/CD practices.
What you will do
- Build end-to-end product features including domain models, business logic, and API integrations across tax and banking functionality
- Own orchestration layers connecting backend services with mobile, web, and AI-driven components
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering leadership to deliver seamless and scalable user experiences
- Develop backend services using Golang in a cloud environment, ensuring high reliability and uptime
- Lead projects from ideation through production deployment using modern CI/CD pipelines
- Debug and optimize complex event-driven systems to improve performance, scalability, and stability

Nice to Have
- Exposure to AI, prompt engineering, or agent-based systems
Miscellaneous
Required
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in either San Francisco or Seattle
