Full Stack Software Engineer (front end leaning)
AI has transformed digital industries, but progress in the physical sciences — including drug discovery, materials science, and climate modeling — has lagged behind. The bottleneck isn’t compute or algorithms. It’s data. Many of the most valuable scientific datasets remain siloed, unstructured, and difficult to access.
This company is building a platform that enables organizations to securely share proprietary datasets and train models on high-performance infrastructure — all in one place. Dataset owners maintain control while enabling model development, creating a new way to unlock domain-specific insights from previously inaccessible data.
About the Role
We’re looking for a frontend-leaning Software Engineer to help build a user-facing product from the ground up. You’ll work closely with leadership and a small engineering team to develop intuitive, performant interfaces while contributing across the stack as needed.
This is a strong opportunity for someone early in their career who wants meaningful product ownership, to deepen their technical fundamentals, and to grow quickly in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Build user-facing features using React and TypeScript, with a focus on performance and usability
- Collaborate on API design and integrate frontend components with backend services
- Contribute to scalable, maintainable frontend architecture
- Translate product requirements into clean, functional UI components
- Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices
- Partner with product and design to iterate quickly on new features
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of professional experience (or equivalent internships/projects) building web applications
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or closely related field)
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core CS fundamentals (assessed during interviews)
- Experience working with APIs
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or GCP) is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and learning quickly
Bonus
- Experience with data visualization or working with large datasets in the frontend
- Exposure to backend development (Node.js, Python, etc.)
- Interest in AI/ML or data platforms
