Founding Product Designer

We’re partnering with an early-stage technology company to hire a Founding Product Designer who will own the design and user experience of a new software platform from the ground up.

The company has built an initial working product and is now looking for someone who can take a step back, deeply understand the customer and end-user experience, and turn complex functionality into a simple, intuitive, and polished product.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who sits at the intersection of product design, UX, and front-end development. You won’t just create mockups—you’ll help turn ideas into functional product experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Own product design and UX across a new web-based platform
• Translate complex technical capabilities into simple, intuitive user experiences
• Work directly with founders and engineers to shape product direction
• Take concepts from early exploration through functional implementation
• Build and iterate on web experiences using modern front-end technologies such as React
• Establish design systems, patterns, and product standards as the company scales
• Use AI-native tools and workflows throughout the design and development process
• Help build the foundation for a future design/product organization

What We’re Looking For

• Strong product design and UX experience, ideally within an early-stage or highly technical environment
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional simplicity, usability, and product thinking
• Ability to explain how you think, not just showcase finished designs
• Experience designing complex software products and making them feel approachable
• Enough front-end engineering experience to build functional experiences, not just static prototypes
• React or similar modern web development experience
• Comfortable operating with ambiguity and significant ownership
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering, product, and company leadership
• Excited about working in an AI-native environment where new tools are incorporated throughout the product development process
