About the Role

This is a founding engineering seat with ownership across web and mobile. The immediate priorities are the web operator console and native iOS application, with Android planned next.

The underlying functionality works. Now the team needs an engineer who can shape how customers actually experience it—from navigation and interaction design to production code, performance, and reliability.

You’ll own the frontend and work across the backend as features require. There isn’t a dedicated designer on the team, so your product judgment matters. You don’t need to own the brand, but you do need to make thoughtful decisions about how the product looks, feels, and works.

Users operate in demanding, around-the-clock environments. They need clear information and simple workflows, especially when the stakes are high. This role is about making complex systems easy to use.

AI coding tools and agents are part of the team’s daily workflow. You’ll be expected to use them effectively while taking responsibility for code quality, architecture, and what ships.

What You’ll Do

• Own the web console, from interaction design through production React and TypeScript.

• Build and own the native iOS application using Swift and SwiftUI.

• Work with a shared Kotlin Multiplatform core and support future Android development using Jetpack Compose.

• Build reliable mobile experiences, including offline functionality, synchronization, critical alerts, and device security.

• Turn real-time data into clear, actionable interfaces.

• Partner with platform and ML engineers to build and modify the APIs your features need.

• Own mobile builds, CI, and releases.

• Spend time with customers in the field and translate what you learn into product improvements.

• Help shape the customer experience across software and connected physical systems.

What You Bring

• Production web and mobile applications you’ve shipped and owned.

• Strong React and TypeScript experience.

• Native iOS development experience with Swift and SwiftUI.

• Production Kotlin experience; Kotlin Multiplatform and Jetpack Compose are a plus.

• Experience with offline-first mobile applications, synchronization, and conflict handling.

• Experience integrating maps and live video into production applications.

• Familiarity with accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2 AA.

• Strong product instincts and the ability to simplify complex workflows for nontechnical users.

• Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools and agents, with a workflow you can demonstrate.

• Comfort moving quickly, making decisions with incomplete information, and owning problems through resolution.

• Availability to work onsite in Bellevue five days per week.

• U.S. citizenship.

Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time, data-dense, or geospatial interfaces.

• Experience building and maintaining design systems.

• Deep accessibility expertise.

• Experience in security, defense, critical infrastructure, or other regulated environments.

• Exposure to hardware, edge devices, sensors, or robotics.

• Prior founding or early-stage engineering experience.

Technical Environment

The broader environment includes AI-enabled applications, edge and cloud systems, real-time operational software, distributed infrastructure, computer vision, and integrations with physical devices. Some deployments operate in restricted or disconnected environments.

Team and Working Style

You’ll join a small founding team and work directly with leadership and engineers across platform, infrastructure, and applied AI. This is an opportunity to influence the product, technical decisions, and engineering culture early.

The team works together in person and expects the flexibility and urgency that come with an early-stage startup, including additional effort around important delivery milestones.
