About Our Client

Our client is building an AI-native platform focused on improving complex, real-world operational workflows. Rather than simply digitizing existing processes, the platform rethinks how teams collaborate, make decisions, and execute work by embedding intelligence directly into core workflows.

This is an opportunity to work on meaningful technical challenges alongside a team that values curiosity, ownership, and high-quality execution.

The Role

We are seeking a thoughtful, product-minded Engineering Manager who is equally invested in team development and product outcomes. This role will lead a core product engineering team during a key phase of growth as internal tools evolve into scalable, customer-facing products.

You will guide engineers building AI-assisted workflows that require balancing reliability, usability, and performance. The role partners closely with Product and Design leadership and plays a key role in shaping engineering culture, team effectiveness, and technical direction.

What You’ll Do

Lead delivery with clarity
Drive consistent execution through strong operating rhythms, including sprint planning, team rituals, and stakeholder communication. Leverage modern AI-enabled development workflows where appropriate.

Own the Engineering Manager–Product Manager partnership
Act as a co-owner of roadmap delivery. Provide technical perspective on prioritization decisions, surface tradeoffs, and help align engineering efforts with user needs.

Navigate ambiguity and create structure
Translate complex problems into actionable plans. Provide direction that helps teams maintain momentum while adapting to evolving product requirements.

Shape technical direction
Partner with senior engineers on architecture and design decisions. Establish engineering practices that enable speed without sacrificing maintainability or quality.

Build and develop the team
Support hiring, coaching, and performance management. Provide clear feedback, create growth opportunities, and maintain a healthy, high-performing team environment.

Who You Are

10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years leading product engineering teams.

Strong technical background with the ability to guide architectural discussions, evaluate engineering tradeoffs, and build credibility with senior engineers.

Experience working with AI-assisted development workflows, including tools that support coding, testing, documentation, or design acceleration.

Track record of leading teams building AI-enabled or data-driven product experiences.

Strong sense of ownership for both delivery outcomes and team growth.

Collaborative cross-functional partner who works effectively with Product and Design peers.

Strong written communicator who can clearly document decisions, priorities, and technical concepts.

Motivated by solving complex problems involving messy data, evolving requirements, and real-world constraints.

Maintains high standards while fostering a supportive and respectful team environment.

Nice to Have

Experience working in operationally complex B2B environments.

Background supporting workflow-heavy platforms or systems involving multiple stakeholders.

Experience helping teams transition from internal tools to scalable product platforms.

Experience supporting platform modernization or architecture evolution initiatives.

Why This Opportunity

Meaningful ownership and influence on team structure, engineering practices, and technical direction.

Opportunity to work on complex problems where software has significant real-world impact.

AI-native development environment where machine intelligence is embedded into core product workflows.

Stage of growth where individual contributions have visible and lasting impact.

Collaborative team environment that values thoughtful leadership and continuous improvement.
