About the Role
ZeroPath is looking for a Customer Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to serve as the technical face of the company. This person will own POC success, troubleshoot and resolve customer issues end-to-end, and partner directly with Fortune 500 customers to drive adoption and revenue.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role at a fast-moving AI security startup where you'll work directly alongside the founders and CTO. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing production code, solving customer problems live, and navigating technical conversations with senior security and engineering leaders.

ZeroPath is looking for a Customer Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to serve as the technical face of the company. This person will own POC success, troubleshoot and resolve customer issues end-to-end, and partner directly with Fortune 500 customers to drive adoption and revenue.

- Join active POC and customer calls alongside the Account Executive and own all technical follow-up actions through resolution
- Debug, reproduce, patch, and ship fixes against customer environments and codebases
- Drive customer issues to resolution end-to-end rather than simply escalating them
- Proactively identify friction points and implement solutions directly for customers
- Partner with Engineering to escalate product issues and influence roadmap decisions
- Build documentation, playbooks, and repeatable processes to scale the Customer Engineering function
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to security teams, engineering leaders, and executive stakeholders
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in one of the following:
- Software Engineering
- Application Security Engineering
- Customer Engineering
- Solutions Engineering
- Forward-Deployed Engineering (with strong software development experience)
- Strong Software Engineering background with a track record of shipping production code
OR - Application Security experience with exposure to SAST, DAST, or SCA tools
- Actively writing and shipping code today (not purely architectural, advisory, or pre-sales focused)
- Proficiency with:
- Python
- TypeScript
- SQL
- Experience with:
- GitHub and/or GitLab
- CI/CD pipelines
- Uses AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar as part of their daily workflow
- Able to independently debug, patch, test, and deploy fixes
- Experience supporting customer implementations, POCs, technical evaluations, or escalations
- Comfortable presenting technical concepts to security and engineering stakeholders
- Able to hold technical conversations with CISOs, security teams, and senior engineers
- Takes ownership of customer issues through resolution rather than simply escalating them
- Highly self-directed and proactive
- Thrives in ambiguity and startup environments
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Operates with the urgency and autonomy of an early-stage startup team member
- Early-stage startup experience
- Former founder or early engineering hire
- Customer Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Forward-Deployed Engineering experience
- Experience driving the technical side of enterprise POCs and implementations
- Active GitHub contributions or meaningful side projects
- Experience supporting Fortune 500 customers
- Deep Application Security experience
- Familiarity with:
- SAST
- DAST
- SCA
- Modern AppSec practices
- Availability during the core collaboration window of 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM Pacific Time
- Security professionals whose experience is limited to SOC, Detection & Response, or Incident Response work without software development experience
- Solutions Engineers who primarily demo products but do not write and ship code
- Engineers who have only worked within large, slow-moving enterprise environments and lack startup agility
