Application Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Application Engineer to join our client's Technology team. This role is crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining applications that support business operations while ensuring efficiency, security, and compliance.
The Application Engineer will be responsible for understanding customer needs, configuring and optimizing enterprise applications, providing technical support, and ensuring the successful deployment of applications. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Key Functions
1. Application Design, Development & Support
- Design, configure, customize, and optimize enterprise applications, including core business systems, deposit platforms, loan processing platforms, document management platforms, file transmission solutions, ITSM platforms, and payment gateways to meet business requirements.
- Coordinate and execute application installations, upgrades, and integrations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.
- Provide post-deployment support to ensure seamless operations.
- Identify and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
- Analyze user feedback and operational data to identify opportunities for improved functionality.
2. Technical Consultation
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and technical challenges.
- Provide expert guidance on application capabilities and recommend solutions aligned with business needs.
3. System Integration
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to integrate new technologies with existing infrastructure.
- Ensure seamless data exchange between core systems, customer-facing platforms, and back-office applications.
4. Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a technical liaison between IT, business units, and external partners.
- Provide regular updates on application performance and project milestones to stakeholders.
5. Training & Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and support materials.
- Train end users and internal teams on new applications and system upgrades.
6. Deliver Exceptional Service
- Maintain knowledge of company technology, products, regulatory requirements, and business processes to support internal stakeholders.
- Maintain knowledge of enterprise systems and processes to support technical needs, projects, and audits.
- Demonstrate professionalism, technical expertise, customer service, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ensure cross-functional planning for products, compliance, information, and functionality to minimize business impact.
- Build relationships across the organization to support problem resolution and quality service delivery.
7. Protect the Organization's Interests
- Manage daily operations, monitor application health, escalate and resolve issues, and ensure assigned work is completed promptly.
- Utilize Agile methodologies to track, monitor, and prioritize work.
- Adhere to company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Complete all required training.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Train and support team members with product, technology, and operational knowledge.
Basic Qualifications
Education / Skills / Training
- 2–3 years of experience as an Application Engineer, preferably within banking or financial services.
- 2–3 years of experience supporting or administering enterprise applications using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, and core banking platforms.
- Familiarity with APIs, middleware, and system integrations.
- Understanding of operating systems, networking, server administration, and cloud technologies.
- Understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with cloud-based enterprise platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to share knowledge and mentor teammates.
- Ability to solve complex problems while handling confidential information.
- Knowledge of enterprise operating systems and networking.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
